The 2023 Ford Bronco is an incredible SUV capable of traversing rugged terrain on the weekend and quietly idling outside a McDonald’s drive-through window during the week. This SUV has many customizable features that ensure you get the perfect trail-ready vehicle to suit your family’s needs. Read on to learn more about the incredible features you will love on the ’23 Bronco.

Two brand new 2023 Ford Bronco's driving off road down a mountainous trail.

1. Steel Bash Plates

Nothing is more fun than heading out to the mountains for a day of trail riding. However, having a stick or rock pierce the undercarriage of your SUV is not. Thankfully, Ford has addressed these concerns with their available steel bash plate protection. These bash plates guard critical components of your SUV.

These bash plates are placed strategically to protect your fuel tank, engine, transfer case, and transmission. This ensures that you can enjoy crawling over rugged terrain without worrying that your vehicle is in danger.

2. Off-Road Hero Switches

The ’23 Ford Bronco has multiple off-road hero switches that are easily accessible. These switches are located on your dash and can engage and disengage your front and rear-locking differentials. These switches also control the available Trail Turn assist technology and the available sway-bar disconnect. These hero switches ensure you are never caught unprepared on the trail.

3. Differentials

If you are looking at hard-core off-roading, you need hard-core hardware in your 4X4. The ’23 Ford Bronco features two locking differentials. The Dana 44 AdvanTEK M220 is an excellent rear differential with a Spicer Performa-TraK electronic locker. The front differential is a Dana AdvanTEK M210 independent suspension system that includes a Spicer Performa-TraK electronic locker.

These locking differentials are impressive. Use your hero switch to engage the “lockers,” and each wheel on your ’23 Bronco will spin with the same torque and speed.

4. Stabilizer Bar Disconnect

The days of crawling underneath your 4X4 with a toolbox to disconnect your stabilizer bar are in the past. Instead, the ’23 Ford Bronco features a class-exclusive front stabilizer bar disconnect. Press the hero switch on your dash, and the bar disconnects regardless of your articulation.

The stabilizer bar on the ’23 Bronco is engineered to automatically reconnect as soon as you hit speeds above 20 mph. However, if you have chosen a Raptor or Badlands model, the stabilizer bar is designed to reconnect automatically only after you have hit speeds above 40 mph.
